Malaga heads the list of destinations with the most “Q for Quality” businessesMalaga is the province with the largest number of “Q for Quality” certificates. Its total of 93 establishments amounts to 22.7% of all such certificates awarded in all of Spain. Andalusia thus heads the list of Spanish destinations when ranked by the number of QCertificates issued by ICTE (Institute for Spanish Quality), a department of the central governmentQ for Spanish quality: 410 Andalusian establishments now have been honoured with this brand, and it is the autonomous community with the largest number of entities with this distinction. After Malaga with its 93 establishments comes Seville with 71 certificates, Cadiz with seventy, Granada with 53, Almeria with 45, Córdoba with 34, Huelva with 24 and Jaen with twenty. As for autonomous communities, Andalusia is followed by Catalonia, the Basque Country, Madrid and the Community of Valencia. As far as business sectors are concerned, travel agencies have the largest number of certifications, followed by hotels, tourist apartments, beaches and rural lodging places. The “Q” brand is a certification of quality created by the ICTE to recognise organisations and institutions in the tourism business that seek to establish and insure a level of service that satisfies clients’ expectations by continuously striving for improvement. |
