Costa Brava - Spain

Costa Brava

Weather on Costa Brava: Weather forecast and temperatures on Costa Brava today: Click here!

Costa Brava is the Spanish Mediterranean coast that stretches north of Barcelona towards the French border. Costa Brava is rocky, untouched and wild as the name says: Costa Brava - The wild coast! Costa Brava is quite different from the popular tourist destinations Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.

Many fine coves and cute villages on Costa Brava are waiting to be discovered by the tourists in contrast to the already famous and fabulous beaches on Costa Brava where tourism started to arrive a long time ago: For example Lloret de Mar, Girona, Sitges, Calella, Salou and Caraqués.

Costa Brava a real paradise for golf. It is not only The golf coast in Andalusia that offers the golfers all year round golf and a large number of fine golf courses. Actually both the prices of green fees and availability are much more attractive on Costa Brava than elsewhere along the Mediterranean coast and the countryside on Costa Brava is incredibly beautiful.

On Costa Brava the hotels are many and there are options to suit all pockets: From luxury hotels to guest houses in smaller villages. Both the hotels and the food is much cheaper on Costa Brava than in southern Spain, as well as the golf fees.

The cities along Costa Brava as for example. Girona, Figueres, Palamos, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Sitges, Calella, Caraqués, Salou and Tossa de Mar all have something special to offer the foreign visitor.

In Figueres (Figueras) you can visit the Salvador Dali Museum. Houses designed in the Dali style, like if they where fairy-tale castles are found just everywhere, spacially in Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar.

Barcelona and Girona - Gerona are never far away when you are on Costa Brava and day trips are almost a must if you want more than just sun and beach. For example, it is only 34 kilometres from Lloret de Mar to Girona - Gerona and 94 kilometres to Barcelona. Rent a car or take the bus: Perfect for a day trip!

The local fishing villages offers daily auctions and delicious fresh fish dishes are on most of the restaurants' menus on Costa Brava. One of the typical fishing villages is charming Cadaqués that also fascinated people like Salvador Dalí or Calella de Palafrugell where the atmosphere has a strong reminiscent of Cuba.

For Nature lovers we can definitely recommend a visit to the Nature Park Cabo de Creus which gives an idea of the unspoilt nature on Costa Brava.

The botanical gardens in Lloret de Mar and Blanes are also well worth a visit, and of course, the Pyrenees in Girona: Wild nature and beautiful mountains where a walk is a fantastic experience.

Winter Sports are important in the region surrounding Costa Brava. Ski resorts like Vallter, Nuria and Setcases are very popular.

Lloret de Mar - Costa Brava

Lloret de Mar is one of the most important tourist destinations in southern Europe. Llotret del Mar is located in a privileged environment on the Spanish Mediterranean Coast Costa Brava, 70 km from Barcelona. Lloret de Mar occupies a municipal area of 48 km2 that includes the five main beaches with a total of 7 km of coastline and rich natural heritage.
