Mallorca is back as one of this summer's big favourites: Mallorca has for some years been among the classic holiday resorts that suffered from the popularity of new exciting and exotic destinations in South America and Asia that managed to push Mallorca back in the shade for a while, but now Mallorca is back as one of summer's hottest destinations.

Mallorca is the largest Balearic island. The population in Mallorca does not reach 700.000 inhabitants, and of those, around 50 percent lives in the capital Palma de Mallorca or simply Palma. Palma de Mallorca is one of the 15 largest cities in Spain. Tourism is the most important industry on Mallorca: 6 - 7 million tourists visits the island every year. Palma de Mallorca is a historic city. Many tourists miss the history and culture when they spend the entire holiday at the hotel and the beach. The architecture in Palma de Mallorca is well worth some attention. The old city is renowned for beautiful buildings with courtyards, palaces, churches and fine art galleries. The sea is always close and harbours, ports, beaches and Mediterranean atmosphere are present everywhere.
