Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest of The Canary Islands.

Tenerife is very popular among European tourists in winter, especially Santa Cruz de Tenerife. On The Canary Islands you find Europe's sunniest and warmest winters. Tenerife is the place for all those who yearn for warm sunny beaches in summer or winter as well as for those looking for wild nature, sports and adventure. The northern part of Tenerife is green and lush in contrast with the southern district's beaches. Almost all the tourists you meet has plans to visit the volcano Teide, or they have already visited the famous volcano, which rises majestically and almost frightening 3718 meters above sea level. The crater Las Cañadas is where the cable car to the volcanic peak starts, but it is more than high enough to appreciate nature's wonders while avoiding queues formed at the cable car to reach the highest peak.

Tenerife is the most populated island of all the Spanish Canary Islands with almost one million inhabitants. Nearly half of the population of the Canary Islands lives on Tenerife. Over five million tourists arrives to Tenerife in Spain every year.
