The new Michelin Star recognises M.B as the quintessential gourmet restaurant in Tenerife and places the Canary Islands on the map as a first class fine dining destination.
M.B Restaurant opened in autumn 2008 and features Martín Berasategui’s signature use of fresh ingredients from the Basque region. The Michelin Star awarded last night is Chef Berasategui’s sixth Michelin Star.
M.B is situated in Abama’s main citadel facing the pool and Atlantic Ocean and offers indoor and outdoor dining. A wine cellar with over 500 labels includes some of the finest international and local Canary Island wines and a resident sommelier, Álvaro Prieto, who was recognized as the Canary Islands’ best sommelier in November 2008.
The unique culinary experience of M.B’s cuisine lies in the delicate balance between temperature, flavour and texture, mixing tradition, technique and innovation. Deputy Chef Paolo Casagrande states: “This award is an achievement of a team of people in constant search of perfection. Our main goal each day is to offer quality and originality in all of our dishes.
