LateRooms.com: Try Cadiz Semana Santa celebrations on Seville holidays travelers staying at Seville hotelsmay wish to take a trip down to the southern tip of Spain to see the ornate Cadiz Semana Santa Celebrations taking place. With the period being so elaborate in Seville itself, it would be easy for Cadiz's processions to fade in comparison, but they more than hold their own.
As with celebrations all over Spain, each day sees several parades, but what makes this Andalucian town so special is how ornate and lavish the 'pasos' - or floats - are.
Some of these structures, which are carried around the streets by members of religious brotherhoods wearing robes and hoods, date back to the 16th century when Cadiz had plenty of access to gold and silver in its role as a trading port, according to What's On When.
The news provider highlighted the Borriquita procession on Palm Sunday beginning at 16:00 (local time) as a particular favourite for many visitors.
That particular order was established in 1944 and wears white robes and red hoods, according to Semana Santa en Cadiz.
For full details of when each of the pasos will be carried around, people can speak to the local tourist office, although Spanish-speakers can check the official website for the itinerary.
The celebrations take place from March 28th to April 4th.
Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for Cadiz Semana Santa is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hoteles Sevillaas early as possible."
